Hi all!
Another raining Monday here is SW Florida, the rain is not unusual for us this time of year, but it is usually sunny most of the day then around 4 it starts to cloud up and rains around 5 pm and then the sun comes back out again. It has been overcast and dreary for two weeks and I need some Vitamin D... WHAAAAA
Like you I follow a ton of blogs and I love What Will You Stamp (WWYS), each week I hope they will be using a set I have so I can play along. This week's set is Sea Street. I have to say that when I saw the set I had to have it but once it arrived, I was not so enthusiastic. I don't make very many cards for Kids so I was perplexed as to how to use it. I did this card as an idea for my Library classes this fall and put it aside, unfinished. This week's WWYS reminded me of it and I pulled it out and finished it up.
I found this technique on my go to website Split Coast Stampers. I have to say when I am stuck I hop over and check out the newest tutorials or galleries, I always find something to inspire me. This is called a shadow box card. It is quick and easy to make.
So here is the set for this week:
And this is what I stamped with it...
The base is done in Whisper White and Island Indigo. I sponged color onto the background and colored the flags & school of fish with Markers and the little octopus was stamped in gray, He didn't show up very well so he was stamped it again on a piece of scrap the covered with Silver Glitter and fussy cut him out. He is popped up on Dimensionals. I added the stars and Sea creatures onto the front with glue dots and left the back blank to allow for a sentiment to be stamped later. I used almost every stamp in the set and with the other WWYS creations, I will be using this set more often. Thanks for stopping and have a great week.
Until next time....Be Kind and DO One Thing Today that Makes YOU HAPPY!!
Hugs

What a cute card idea Rose! Thanks for playing along with us this week at WWYS!
ReplyDeleteRose Ann this is so fun!! I've never made a shadow box card and one I really want to. Also, that is some epic fussy cutting! You even got the little space between the tentacles. I love the glittery octopus-very cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning our guest designer spot this week!
