News from Stampin UP and a Share

Merry Christmas!!! I hope you are all settling in for your celebration with family & friends.  We don't have company this year so it will be quite for us.  I am super excited about the new Occasions Mini & Sale-A-Brations Mini that will go into effect on the 5th of January.  I placed my preorder at the begining of the month and haven't had a chance to play with anything.  But I do now!  I am working on some cards for my Senior Center Class and Spring Projects for the next Lee County Library series.  I usually get stuck thinking of new Ideas for the Library, I like to keep it interesting for the attendees.

Couple of news tidbits for today are the

My last Christmas Card....

I saw a wreath card on a fellow demonstrator's website but don't remember who.  I had to try to make it.  It is done with the Pine Cone from Ornamental Pine Set.  You punch a circle from a post it and them stamp around the circle overlapping the post-it.  I used two colors and my wreath is fuller than the one that I saw.  I punched small circles from scraps of Red Glimmer paper and added a bow.  I did this card on a piece of Whisper White Stamped in Red.  I added a background piece of Real Red to give it a bit of color.  Hope you enjoy.
Have a Peace filled Christmas and a Bright & Happy New Year.
Until next time......Do one thing today that makes YOU happy!

Welcome to the Jacksonville Starz December Blog Hop!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, so glad you stopped by today.  You are going to see some fabulous cards from the Starz.  This month we did our card using a sketch we were given.  Here is the sketch
And here is my card

I used Crumb Cake for my base, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and a bit of Early Espresso Card Stock.  Gold Glimmer and a scrap of Red Glimmer & some 1/8" Gold Ribbon.  I matted my Vanilla with the piece of Cherry Cobbler and embossed both pieces at the same time with the Stylish Stripes TIEF.  Next I took the strip of Early Espresso and finished both long edges with the Lacy Finishing Touches Thinlits, banded it with a piece of 1/8" Gold Ribbon.  I punched 2 tags with the Note Tag Punch (which is being carried over into the Occasions Mini YEA) one in Very Vanilla, the other from Gold Glimmer Paper.  Using the Be Merry stamp from the Holiday Invitations Stamp Set (that we got FREE at Convention, another perk of being a SU Demonstrator), I stamped the Be at the top of the Vanilla Tag and the Merry closer to the bottom in Cherry Cobbler.  Then cut both tags in half and made my faux frame.  I punched the Tree from Gold Glimmer Paper and the star from a scrap of Red Glimmer paper.  To assemble I mounted the Vanilla/Cherry mat to the base, next using snail I ran a strip of adhesive along the seam the mounted the Espresso stripe.  I added the Tree and Star with Glue dots.  The Tag is slipped behind the strip and held in place with a small piece of Sticky Strip.  I hope you enjoy my card and follow the hop to Monique Zimmer Creations.

Until next time.....be kind and DO One Thing Today that Makes YOU Happy!!
