Star of Light Bundle

Greeting from waterlogged Southwest Florida!  We have been having so much rain the past week, I am thankful that we live don't live in a flood zone.  We have canals and sand so most of the water is gone by morning.
I had a couple of shares for you, from the Star of Light Set which can be purchased as a bundle (saves 10%).   The first one is done in Dapper Denim and White using clear emboss powder, Versa Mark and Dapper Denim Ink.  I embossed the star spray first then cut out the middle, the star was die cut and then the Dapper Denim Mat was die cut, when mounted to the card base it gives a layered look.  The top mat is mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals.  In the center I colored my Basic Rhinestone blue with a Spectrum Noir Marker.  Inside the sentiment and star are embossed and a small rhinestone is in the center.
The second card is done in Night of Navy and White, this is similar to the one above but no embossing and I had added a silver foil star on the front.  This was my first card, I love the crisp clean look of the Night of Navy paper.

The set comes with nine different sentiments so you can combine them anyway you like.  I used different ones for the inside of the  cards.
Lastly, I have a little ornament done with Silver Embossing Powder.  The die has fold line to give you a 3d effect.  I stamped first with Versa Mark then embossed.  I glued together 4 stars but I think that you could use 3 and still have a nice effect.  The "Shine" was punched out with the Medium Star punch and hung with Smoky Slate Stitched ribbon.  It was a little hard to get a good picture of it hanging.

Have a wonderful weekend and remember Do One Thing Today That YOU  Happy!
Hugs

Samples from Greetings from Santa

I'm Back!!!
As promised here are two samples from one of my favorites, Greetings from Santa.  This set does come in Wood and Clear, for you beginners when we say Wood, the block is included in your set, and Clear you will need to have some clear blocks to use your stamps.
I saw these on YouTube and decided to try them.  First is a box, done by SternchenStempel DIY, I couldn't find a website for her, but I linked her YouTube Video so you can see her rendition of the box.  I had to re-figure the size because I couldn't fit t her size thru my Big Shot.  Instead of doing it 9 1/2 wide I did 4 panels each 4 5/8, it did turn out a little big and I am working on a smaller version.  I did finished the inside and it does make a great luminary (battery powered only).  This is done in Real Red, with a bit of Whisper White and some Silver Glimmer paper behind the sides of the box lid and used Velum to back my Santa.  I stamped it in Always Artichoke.

I am working on a write up tutorial if you are interested just send me an e-mail and I will sent it to you when finished.

My second project was on YouTube by Bobbie from Bloomin Hearts, again I linked her YouTube video to my post.   This is done in Whisper White Thick Cardstock for the base and mat which is cut the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  The inserts were done with Basic Black (glasses) Blushing Bride (face) Red Glimmer Paper Hat, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the pom-pom on his hat and a piece of This Christmas Specialty DSP for the background.  What a great way to get rid of your scraps, it just takes a little piece.  If you are like me I have scraps everywhere :-)  You have to watch all those little pieces but it is a fun card to make and gives you a super cute card.  They have Happy Christmas instead of Merry Christmas, but they do have a Merry Christmas in the set so you could probably change the greetings.
I finished the inside with some DSP and a strip of Red Glimmer Paper but got ink on it so I am not showing it off.  Lesson learned to keep a wet one close by at all times.
I hope you enjoyed my samples, I will be working with a new bundle in the next couple of day.  So stay tuned.

Until next time.......
Huge Hugs

HOLIDAY BUNDLES 2016

Good Morning, First of all I wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to all of you affected by Hurricane Hermine.  We here in Southwest Florida were spared the brunt of the storm, suffering only some strong winds and a few days of heavy rain.  I know we were very lucky this time.
I wanted to give you a little preview of the bundles that can be yours from the Stampin' UP! 2016-2017 Holiday Catalog.  These are some great buys that combine a stamp set & a set of Thinlits Dies or a Punch.  To take a peek at the new Holiday Catalog, just follow the link on my side bar.

Here is one of the cards we are doing in my Wednesday Card Group

It is a Joy Fold style card.  I used the Spooky Fun/Halloween Scenes Edgelits bundle (144437) and Halloween Scares Stamp set (142229).  The base is done in Elegant Eggplant that has been embossed with the Woodland TIEF the inside is lined with a piece of DSP (sorry that is retired) the front is done in Basic Black and lined in Whisper White.  The scene on front is done mostly with cutout from scraps and there is little stamping.  The inside is stamped in Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie.  I love Joy folds they are quick and easy but give you a Wow factor everyone loves to see.
